In 2013, Marshall & Swift/Boeckh reported that 60 percent of homes were underinsured by an average of 17 percent. In addition to increased construction costs many homes are not built to current building codes and that fact could result in significant out of pocket costs if the appropriate building ordinance and law coverage isn’t added.
